Sarah over at “Babies everywhere… but none that call me Mama” touched on this recently. Also, the Washington Post has an article that talks about how social media (Facebook) has in impact on the daily lives of infertile couples.  We all know what it’s like, and it’s nice to see the national media bring it into the conversation more.

It’s a bitch to log on and see yet another post, and yet another, and another from all these over-sharing, happy couples bragging and fawning over their special snowflakes. And it’s not every parent.  Honestly, it’s so understandable to be excited about your kids and their milestones.  It’s completely great that you support them and love them.  But these normal, loving parents are outflanked by people like the crazed mommie who updates every hour about her shopping trip/lunch/nap/dinner with her 6 year old son, the over excited new dad who can’t stop snapping pictures…and posting each and every one, including the poopy dirty diaper or green puke on his sleeve, or the placenta….yes, I said PLACENTA. You read that right.

I think STFU, Parents covers this type of person quite well.

My own personal FB run in?…the new parents who after buying six (yes SIX) Halloween costumes for their 3 week old, posted each one…each with it’s own special snowflake status update.  So we get to scroll past six consecutive pictures of this poor little child subjected to the Anne Gedde’s posturing of its parents hovering over, camera in hand, snapping away.  Utter Fail.  You get three strikes with me.  You overshare…you get hid.  Period.

Perfect, and funny, example via Jezebel on what this sometimes looks like…and seriously…it’s scarily spot on..
